Mia view on Corona Norco Unified School

Ranked I am disappointed at how the District failed my son and watched him suffer due to his disabilities. They have lied, altered records and prolonged services just to cover up the wrong doing of their administrators. What is even harder to phantom is that this is occurring all the time with many of the special ed students. At this time, because CNUSD has lied, got caught and pushed my son out of his wheel chair, they are now blackmailing me. They are saying that if I agree to sign a confidentiality clause and for them not to have to admit wrong doing they will give my son the services he should have gotten over three years ago. Is this madness! This does not just happen to me, this is their system. I am disappointed that they put no emphasis on my child's needs and finds it more important to cover there lies to all parent. To all special ed parents, get an advocate. You are most likely getting shorted on services and assessments and do not even know it. Trust me, they will smile and make you feel like they have the best interest for your child but they do not have the best interest of your child, they have the best interest for the majority. posted on Friday, October 15, 2010

Ranked I understand. If your child is on an IEP, remember all their needs should be discussed at this time. Most children on an IEP, even if it is just for Speech and Language have other areas that need to be assessed. If your child is being bullied they may need some sort of social skills. Are they organized? They may need a Behavior Plan. Can they make friends? How are there grades and studying skills?

I suggest putting in writing and asking for a psychological evaluation. This is not saying anything bad about any child. This should actually be given to any child as it will let you know there strengths, weaknesses, how well they are doing with what they should be able to learn. How they learn best, whether by seeing, hearing or hands on. An array of things you can learn about any child, never the less a special ed child to help them success in life.

Trust me, the school will not tell you what your child needs. Just put in in writing that you want a full psychological evaluation, let them let them know why, whether you feel they are not learning to their full potential or just your concerns and then send it your child's teacher or principal. posted on Friday, October 15, 2010

Ranked If you are on an IEP because your child has ADHD, put in writing that you want a full psychological evaluation. The school and/or district may'suggest' medication but in reality, usually thats all they will do. If your child has ADHD or ADD then chances are they need a full psychological evaluation. If the school did not offer one, I would not be surprised but then think to yourself, If the IEP, Independent Education Program is for your child's, what is being done for your child. All of your concerns should be addressed and worked out at the IEP. A game plan and goals should be done at the IEP to help your child with any problems your son/daughter may have, focusing issues, organizational skills, social skills, emotional skill, academic grades, exc.. Again, put in writing that you want a full psychological evaluation that will be paid for by the school and you may find out so much needed information to give your child what they need. If your child needs medication, understand, that is a bandage, not a solution. The psychological evaluation will give you knowledge on things you can do to help your child in the classroom, home and life. posted on Saturday, October 16, 2010
